What is this course?

This course is for clinicians wanting to know how to work with complex trauma with their female clients. In this workshop we focus on women with complicated relationships with their maternal figure. We review attachment styles, the effects of an insecure attachment bond with a maternal figure, the types of emotional wounds that form, and what they look like in your office. Affect regulation tools are explained and demonstrated in order to apply them in clinical practice with this population.

Who is leading this course?

Mari Grande is a licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Clinical Social Worker in private practice in New York City where she sees individuals and groups online. She is licensed to work with people NY, NJ, FL, and CA. Her specialty is helping clients work through overwhelming circumstances and reach deeper understandings of themselves and their relationships.

She is an EMDR Consultant and Therapist, Hypnotherapist, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Mari is on the faculty of the Institute for Expressive Analysis (IEA), former Director of Admissions at IEA, and former Director of Advisement at National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP) Executive Committee of the Integrative Trauma Program. Her area of expertise is using creativity to heal relational trauma. Mari also offers courses and workshops on creativity to heal trauma online, in the role of Teacher and Coach.
