A Cyclical and Experiential Approach to Human Development, 2.5 CE credit Workshop
This live, 2.5 hour online course offers a developmental and attachment informed exploration of the MARI Great Round through instruction, composite case discussion, and hands on mandala creation.
We will explore how the four quadrants and twelve stages of the Great Round may reflect recurring developmental movements involving embodiment, nurturance, boundaries, differentiation, identity, relationship, endings, and integration. Development is presented as a spiral rather than a straight line. Early needs, capacities, and adaptations continue to live within us and may reappear through relationships, transitions, creative work, loss, and change throughout adult life.
This course expands upon Introduction to the MARI Method, though prior MARI training is not required and is welcome either way. It is not MARI practitioner training. It does not teach participants to administer, score, or independently interpret the MARI assessment. The course includes accessible theory, two composite clinical cases, guided discussion, and an experiential mandala process with reflective inquiry.
This course includes 2.5 continuing education credits approved by the ATCB for eligible art therapists seeking board certification hours. Other mental health professionals, graduate students, educators, and helping professionals are welcome to attend for learning and professional enrichment, but are not eligible to receive ATCB CEs through this offering.
No prior MARI training or art experience is required.
